I have to remember this and the best way to remember is to share.
We have one regular ( I mean every day, sometimes twice a day) customer to our library who thinks he knows how to use the public computers. He then spends half an hour swearing at the machine, making everyone feel uncomfortable, until he finally gives up claiming there’s something wrong with the machine. Of course, there isn’t, just with the user taking up space in front of it.
Recently, I was told of the acronym for this sort of error, EBCAC, which stands for Error Between Chair And Computer.
Next time this customer complains about the computers not working for him I can confidently say that it’s a EBCAC issue and there’s nothing I can do about it.
